It’s time to acknowledge what everyone knows but almost nobody is willing to say out loud.
There’s a problem in this country. It’s real. It’s been here for a while. And it’s not going away unless we step up and do something about it.
That problem is, you guessed it...
It’s time for a drastic overhaul of awards ceremonies, especially the Oscars.
And as we proved in our wildly successful episode 56, it’s our out of the box thinking that can bring groups of people together in unexpected ways.
Does this sound like an early 90s sitcom? Well it isn’t. (Although we will fight anyone that says Alf doesn’t hold up.)
Speaking of fights...
Our idea combines the existing awards ceremony with a March Madness style elimination format while mixing in the edge and live entertainment of the WWE “attitude era”.
Do you like makeup and the red carpet? Fine. We still have it. Do you like pre-fight smack talk promo videos? We have them in spades. Bring back The Rock as a crossover, make Meryl Streep a “heel” and turn Ryan Gosling into a “face”.
Would you watch your favorite actors, actresses, animators, best boys and grips face off in live interpretations of movie scenes? Sure you would. Would you enjoy seeing Kate Hudson actually attack that Julia Roberts lookalike brown-haired girl whose name I can't remember well from all the love movies on the red carpet? Sure you would. There was already a movie that happened in that presumably did pretty well.
Check out this episode for our NCAA, WWE, Oscar mashup. You might regret it, but you probably can’t sue us or anything.
