Sexual Assault Advocate, Writer, Public Speaker, Creative Consultant, Artist

A sexual assault advocate, writer, public speaker and artist, Marnie Goodfriend's activism spans over two decades. She is the founder of Write To Healing, a movement to help sexual assault survivors reauthor their experience through the written word. She has worked with the Silence Breakers, Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation, USC's Violence Intervention Program, Peace Over Violence, and changemakers including Rosanna Arquette and Rose McGowan.

Marnie is a former speaker’s bureau member for RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) and Mount Sinai SAVI ER advocate and speaker. Her consultant work for Shonda Rhimes’ multi-episode rape storyline for ABC’s Private Practice garnered 2011 PRISM and NAACP awards.

Marnie’s articles and essays have been published in TIME, The Washington Post, The Rumpus, Los Angeles Review of Books, LA Weekly, HealthyWomen, Health, and many others. She lives in Connecticut with her bullpei rescue, Dempsey.
